In this passage, the children of Israel are murmuring again to Moses, this time it’s about their hunger. God tells him that he is going to provide them bread in the morning and meat in the evening. This is surprising to me because they were able to take their flocks and herds with them into the wilderness. Nevertheless, God provides manna which is said to look like a small round seed and tasted like a wafer made of honey, the meat they received was quail, both of which covered the camp every morning and evening except for the sabbath day. So they were to collect double on the sixth day. Even though God promises to provide his Holy manna day after day, the people still attempt to store it up “just in case.” Later, the Lord then commands Aaron to save a pot of manna which is later put into the Ark of the covenant.
How could the children of Israel have done right in the eyes of God in expressing their needs to him? Was complaining and murmuring the only thing they could do?
Do you ever find yourself murmuring against God? Maybe not against God specifically, but against the situation you find yourself in? Maybe your murmurings are directed to your parents, brothers and sisters or teachers. Let’s make a resolution today not to murmur. I don’t think God appreciates murmurers.
we should be thankful for everything that God gives us.
