Insight:
Moses’ first meeting with Pharoah doesn’t go according to Moses’ expectations. Pharoah has no knowledge of who God is and no interest in obeying his command. This meeting causes Pharoah to increase the workload of the Hebrews which causes the people to become angry at Moses. Moses in turn becomes more impatient and questioning of what God’s plan is.
Conviction:
Most of the time we look at things through our temporal vision, we don’t see the whole picture as God does. That’s why it’s imperative that we as Christians allow the Holy Spirit to lead us. As Proberbs 3:5 says, Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Thanks Bro. Roger!
Moses points out a couple of sincere concerns about his faults. I do not think he was complaining to God. I believe he was just addressing something that made him feel unqualified to do what God was asking.
Question: What are your faults?
What about yourself, makes you feel unqualified to . . . ?
What has God asked you to do that you do not think you can do?
In verse 15-16 it says that the taskmasters told them to make brick, but they didn’t give them any straw. And then in verse 18 he told them to go and work.Did Pharaoh not give them straw just to punish them?
That is exactly why he didn’t give them straw. He hoped to intimidate and discourage them from trying to leave Egypt. When the world tries to intimidate and discourage you from following God, you should get more determined to obey God.
With Moses things got worse before it got better. When God leads you won’t be able to see the outcome. all you can do is trust God and follow His leading.
