Insight: In chapter 49, Jacob prophesies about the futures of his twelve sons and assigns the blessings accordingly. The most notable being Judah who will father the tribe in which Jesus the Messiah will come.
In chapter 5o, the brothers bury Jacob back in Canaan and the 11 brothers are instantly afraid that Joseph will retaliate for what was done to him. Joseph comforts them in saying that even though they had thought evil against him, God meant it for good, to save many people.
