January 8 – Esau – Genesis 25:27-34
“Thus Esau despised his birthright” Genesis 25:34. What circumstances and Esau’s reactions to those circumstances brought him to the point where he despised his birthright, the greatest honor he could possess? He was worn out!
The old devil effectively uses the same tool on Christians today. We get tired . . . no, we get plain worn out. We come to the point when we don’t think we can take any more. We come to the point that we think we know what will refresh us. Many will run to the entertainments of the world trying to escape reality thinking they will be refreshed. Many turn to alcohol and drugs thinking this is what will bring refreshment. Reflect on Matthew 11:28-30. May God refresh you today!
