In the previous chapter, Moses and Joshua with him, head back up Mount Sinai to meet with God. In chapter 25 God begins to give Moses instructions to build the tabernacle and the ark of the covenant. This was to be a portable place where God would be able to dwell with them as they journeyed to the promised land
It amazes me how ornate and specific the instructions were, obviously Israel had very talented people to be able to complete the ark and the tabernacle as described by God
God specifically told Moses how he wanted the ark to be made and how it would look and Moses and the Israelites did as God instructed. We should also follow/trust God when he gives us instructions we need to listen. 🙂
We do have examples in the Bible about assumed obedience being punished due to 1)incomplete obedience, and 2)not following the HOW of obedience.
It must have been pretty difficult to follow all of God’s specific instructions for the ark and the mercy seat and the candle sticks….. following the teaching and instruction that we find in God’s word is not always an easy task I suppose
It does take a desire to follow details, but God’s reward will always be worth any difficulty that we face!
