May 27 – End of an Era 1 – Deuteronomy 31-32

Moses is coming to the end of his life.  The Israelites are close to the Promised Land.  Like a large family, Moses gathers the Israelites together.  He encourages them and assures them that the presence of the Lord is with them.  He reminds all the people that it has been God that has taken care of them.  He warns them not to make God jealous by being unfaithful to God.

He charges the singles out the Levites to keep the Word of God pure of changes and safe from harm.  This is the tribe supposed to be the most spiritual of the Israelites.  These are the full-time Christian workers.  It is to this crowd Moses emphasizes to keep the Word of the Law unchanged.  It is interesting to note that today, it is the spiritual ones that are okay with changing the Word of God.  It has become the “well-educated” that assures God’s people there is no accurate Word of God today.  It is sad to think that there are those that do not have confidence in God; that Bible can have different meanings to different people and everyone is right.  I am glad to report that God did preserve His Word, and you don’t have to guess which man’s interpretation is correct or wrong.  The King James Bible is God’s Word that you can trust.  There is no need to guess.  Praise the Lord for the unchanging Word of God!
