April 4 – Zechariah – Luke 1:1-25, 57-80
Zechariah was a righteous man that obeyed God’s commands and ordinances. He served God full time with his life. He married a lady that was raised serving God. Elisabeth, his wife, was barren and could have no children. During this time frame, it was looked upon as a curse from God not to have children. Zechariah was doing everything right and still God chose not to grant him his request to have a son.
God answers prayers in three ways: 1) God says “no.” 2) God says “yes.” 3) God says “not now.” The third way is the way God chose to answer Zechariah’s prayer. God’s timing is the best timing. John the Baptist would be born at the perfect time to prepare the way for Jesus’ earthly ministry. God always knows what is best. God always knows what is needed. God always knows when it is needed. Let’s trust our Creator and enjoy our journey!
