December 25 – A Saviour is Born – Luke 2
Merry Christmas! I welcome you to join our family devotions as we sit and read Luke 2. We have read the entire chapter and reflected on verses 19 and 51 as Mary “kept all these things” in her heart and thought deeply on them. We also looked and compared verses 40 and 52 when it speaks about Jesus maturing in two different ages and phases of His life.
Now each child must pick a verse that jumped out at them today, and tell us why they liked it:
Annleah – Luke 2:36 “And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;”
Titus – Luke 2:49 “And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?”
Isaac – Luke 2:38 “And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.”
Chloe – Luke 2:17 “And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.”
Benjamin – Luke 2:46 “And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.”
