November 10 – God Sustains the Earth – Psalm 104
This psalm praises God for His continued involvement in nature long after His creation of this earth. This chapter begins and ends with a request for the Lord to bless my soul. I find it interesting that the things in nature that are occurring in this chapter are still happening today. I ask myself, “why have I never consciously praise the Lord for several of these things?” I find the answer to my question in verse 34. The psalmist is meditating on the Lord. With so many things going on in today’s world, we have become guilty of neglecting God. We ask God to solve our election problem, evil leaders problem, financial problem, health problem, riot problem, freedom problem, and many other problems; but we have neglected praising God. How many different things did this psalmist mention to point out God’s praises? Why don’t you take a few moments today and praise God for sustaining the earth?
